Education & Partnership Program

Mission Statement

To build high impact programs around the multidisciplinary research endeavors of the CMDITR, and to equip a diverse population of students with the motivational, technical, and professional tools it needs to lead the IT communities of tomorrow in industry, academia, and the public sector. The CMDITR program will :

  1. Train a diverse population of students in the science and engineering (S&E) career pipeline
  2. Contribute to innovative teaching and learning by developing new educational materials based on interdisciplinary CMDITR research
  3. Incorporate understanding of responsible conduct of research (RCR) practices and intellectual property (IP) issues into the educational curriculum of Center students
  4. Provide professional development opportunities to Center students, broadening their future career options and empowering them to succeed

Goals

  • Create a population of students in the science and engineering career pipeline whose numbers reflect the needs of the information technology industry and whose diversity is representative of the US population

  • Contribute to innovative expansion and enhancement of science and engineering teaching and learning opportunities through the inter-disciplinary content of MDITR research

  • Integrate the teaching and learning of science and engineering with functional enhancements that underlie responsible research practices
