Development of Ultra-Bright Red Organic Electrophosphorescent Devices

Ultra-bright red organic electrophosphorescent devices with 8% external quantum efficiency, and CIE coordinates (0.65, 0.34) very close to the NTSC red standard (0.67, 0.33) were demonstrated.

Impact/Results:

Organic electroluminescent materials based on phosphors have important applications in displays and can find applications as optical isolators. Optimization of the efficiency is essential to minimize power consumption.
