Third Harmonic Generation and Third-Order Parametric Amplifiers

Objective:

Develop nonlinear materials with strong THG which enables frequency conversion from telecommunication wavelength to the visible.

Approach:

Synthesize push-pull molecules with infra-red absorption band and weak absorption in the visible.

Impact:

Key findings include the demonstration of THG signal in the green with microwatt level signals and its application to short pulse diagnostic.
