Organic Solid-State Photovoltaic Platform

Challenge: Current organic materials lack optimized optical and electronic properties and this limits the power efficiency to a few percent. Approach: Develop polycrystalline organic materials with αL>1 with controllable conductivities and with near-infra-red absorption. Focus on new devices with power conversion efficiencies > 10% on glass substrates and > 7% on light-weight flexible substrates. Build tandem cells, in which several cells are stacked in the vertical direction Integrate the solar module with a rechargeable battery on a conformable substrate
