Ultra-Wide Bandwidth THz Spectroscopy

Achievement:

Gap-free, 15-THz generation and detection has been achieved with EO polymers operating at telecommunications wavelengths.

Application:

Ultra-wide bandwidth THz spectroscopy can be used for applications in biological imaging, package inspection, security, sensors, and explosives detection.

Impact:

Development of broad-bandwidth THz emitters and sensors at communication wavelengths is vital to the implementation of mobile THz systems.
