Students can apply for the GEM fellowship online at http://www.gemfellowship.org/, and will have the opportunity to pursue one of dozens of graduate programs offered by the 7 participating STCs. American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) Fellowships
ASEE administers 10 different major government-sponsored award programs for U.S. citizens and permanent residents from the Department of Defense (DoD), National Science Foundation (NSF), and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). These scholarship, fellowship, and internship programs award over $100,000,000 each year and attract over 14,000 applicants in the science, technology, engineering and mathematics fields. There are several programs that pay for undergraduate and graduate education, and some that allow the recipients to intern abroad and at places such as NASA and the Naval Research Laboratories. In addition to student funding, there are also opportunities for post-doctoral students, faculty research, and sabbatical leave. Sandia National Labs Truman Fellowship in National Security Science and Engineering

The National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Program 2007-2008 Competition is open for applications.
This fellowship program provides students with three years of financial support including a $30,000 annual stipend and $10,500 cost-of-education allowance. U.S. citizens, nationals, or permanent residents at or near the beginning of research-based graduate studies in the Chemistry, Computer and Information Science and Engineering, Engineering, Geosciences, Life Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, Physics and Astronomy, Psychology, and Social Sciences fields are eligible to apply. The National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate Fellowship Program (NDSEG)
Sponsored by the Department of Defense, this fellowship program is intended for U.S. citizens at or near the beginning of their graduate studies in science and/or engineering programs. The fellowships are for three year tenures and provide an annual stipend of over $30,000. Full tuition and fees and a health insurance allowance are included as part of the program.
